Halloween Cards

by Karen Hanson | 4 years ago

Hello everyone, it’s Social Media Design Team member Karen H. and today, I have some Halloween fun to share using a great Halloween-themed stack called Halloween Night!

I am a huge fan of shaker cards, although I have to admit that things get very messy when I am making them!  As I was going through my Halloween-themed supplies, I came across some chipboard glitter frames and thought they would be perfect to team up with this fun, colourful stack and a few sequins of course!

If you have never made a shaker card, it really isn’t a complicated process.  Essentially, you are creating a shallow box with an acetate covering to keep all the sequins and/or glitter inside.  Top it off with layers of cute paper and you have a dimensional card that can sideline as a musical instrument!

My favourite pattern in this whole stack happens to be this very playful orange skull/candy paper.  The pattern is small so it works great for cards, and the white skulls create a bright pop of contrast that keeps the project from looking too dark and dreary (although dark and dreary can be perfect for Halloween, you might have noticed that I am more of a bright and colourful Halloween crafter)!

Inside the stack, there are lots of great patterns that include words and phrases that are easy to fussy cut as sentiments.  I cut out the “31 October” section as well as the B-O-O and ghost on the first card.  Attach them with some foam adhesive squares and your cards will have a great dimensional feel without being too bulky!  I think I need to make a few more of these!

Well, that’s it for me today.  I have to head off to make some treat containers with this fun stack.  One week until Halloween!  Yahoo!

Thanks for stopping by!
