Valentines Cookie Sleeve fun!

Hi everyone! It’s Social Media Design Team member Karen, and I have a fun cookie sleeve to share with you today!
In recent years, I have become a huge fan of Valentine’s Day – it’s not really because of the romance aspect, but more because with a little family at home, Valentine’s Day gives me one more chance to craft a little treat to show them how much I love them. And while I totally agree that we don’t need a holiday to do it, I won’t pass up the chance!
As I was going through my DCWV stacks, Jet Black (available at Jo-Ann) really stood out for Valentine’s Day this year. I just love the powerful graphic “punch” that black, white and red can provide; while this stack doesn’t actually have any red in it, it is so easy to team up with some ribbon or other embellishments that do.
And given all the really great “love-themed” title tags that are in this stack, it is the perfect choice for Valentine’s Day!
To create these little cookie sleeves, I simply measure out a piece of the patterned paper at 6” x10”. Working across the 10” length, I scored at the 1”, 4.5”, 5.5”, 9” and 10” points. I then turned my paper so that the 6” edge was across the top and scored at the 1” mark. Once I folded it up, this score line became the bottom of my sleeve. I then simply cut out some of the title tags, backed them with black cardstock and glued them on the front.
I topped them off with some ribbon from May Arts, tying them in different ways for each sleeve (a knot for a more masculine look and a bow for a more feminine look).
With a few adhesive rhinestones to add a bit of sparkle, I was all done! I had all three sleeves finished in about 20 minutes.
So whether you are a Valentine’s Day fan or not, these cute sleeves are a great way to share a little treat with someone you love! Oh, and don’t forget to make one for yourself while you are at it too!
Thanks for stopping by!
